Ho sognato che a Milano c'era il mare

We inaugurate a new partnership with the Bookciak, Azione! Prize, a film-literary competition that transforms books by Italian authors from independent publishers into bookciak, experimental short films of no more than three minutes length.

Bookciak, Azione!, from an idea of Gabriella Gallozzi, is promoted by the cultural association Calipso, publisher of the online newspaper Bookciak Magazine, media partner of WTFF. The awards were presented at a pre-opening event of Venice Days, during the 81st Venice Film Festival, at the presence of the Honarary President, the writer Tahar Ben Jelloun.

The bookciaks were selected by a jury, composed of director Wilma Labate, film critic Teresa Marchesi and independent producer Gianluca Arcopinto.

Working Title Film Festival hosts the screening of Ho sognato che a Milano c’era il mare by Mattia de Gennaro, freely inspired by Peppe Lomonaco’s Il ragazzo con la tuta blu (LiberEtà), the winning film of the special section Memory Ciak.

The aim of Memory Ciak – realised in collaboration with the Spi-CGIL trade union, the LiberEtà publishing house and the Premio Zavattini – is to put memory back into circulation through the novels of the publishing house, accompanied by archive material from the Archive of the Workers’ and Democratic Movement (AAMOD) made available free of charge to the filmmakers.
