Synopsis During month-long fishing trips, Eli’s body begins to show the effects of exploitative labour. The sea, however, always calls him, it has become the refuge of an increasingly alienated life on the mainland.

Director’s bio-filmography Ernesto Jara Vargas (1975) studied Photography at the Alajuela University College and Audiovisual Production at the National Image Center (Costa Rica). He taught at the Center for Technology and Visual Arts (CETAV) and works as a consultant in communication and audiovisual production. He co-founded Producciones La Pecera. His first feature-length film, The Devil’s Elbow (2014), won the award for Best Central American Documentary at the 14th Ícaro Festival. His second documentary feature, We Love Bruno So Much (2018), was broadcasted on public television networks.
