Le magnétophone

Synopsis In 1952, the director’s grandfather Angelo left Italy to work in France. His wife and daughter joined him a year later. When they went to visit their relatives in Vo’ Euganeo, in Italy, they brought a tape recorder containing messages in Italian: stories, songs and pieces of news. Starting from those tapes, the film tries to recompose the memory of the family, linking three generations of women.

Director’s bio-filmography Noémi Aubry (1981) graduated in Visual Anthropology. She is co-founder of the film production association Ozho Naayé and of the Revue Femmes Photographes and a member of L’abominable, a film laboratory. Her documentaries And We Will Throw the Sea Behind You (2015) and Baska bir dag, another mountain (2017) have been selected in around fifty international festivals.
