From Ken Loach to Laurent Cantet, from the Dardenne brothers to Lars von Trier, La dissolvenza del lavoro. Crisi e disoccupazione attraverso il cinema (Ediesse, 2019) is a thorough map of the cinema of work that covers the filmography and analyzes the movies of the greatest directors in this field.
From the 1997 cult movie Full Monty to extreme provocations such as The Boss of It All, through the Italian way of Smetto quando voglio: more than fifty films in six chapters.
During the book introduction, clips will be screened, discussed and commented with the public.
The author
Emanuele Di Nicola is a journalist and film critic. He is an editor of the online movie magazine Gli Spietati and writes for various magazines (Cineforum, Point Blank, Bookciak Magazine).
He collaborates with the University of Rome “La Sapienza” giving lectures and seminars on contemporary cinema.
