Synopsis
This is Gabriele Bortolozzo’s story, a contemporary hero who fought against a silent monster-enemy, which is to say the poisons of the industrial plant at Portomarghera, right in front of Venice (ten minutes by car, twenty by bike).
Here we represent Gabriele starting to ask himself those questions that soon became a terrible knowledge, in front of the dead bodies of innocent (and unaware) workers.
The work reminds us of those moments of civil awakening, through the moving lyricism of the animation movie and the strong informative purpose of the reportage.

Director’s Statement
The short movie is totally inspired by the great story of Gabriele Bortolozzo, a kind and determined worker whose wish for justice was able to fight against the industrial system through the years of the economic boom.
The purpose of the animation movie is not to make clear all the references to specific people and places. It must be like a dreamy experience, in which the spectator can recognize not only Venice and its workers, but every single town with an industrial plant by its side.
The dream is wrapped up in blues, where informative purpose makes room for emotional experience, as admiration for identification.
