Three portraits, in a mix of documentary and animation, of Eastern European migrant workers in Germany. A construction worker who lives on the streets of Frankfurt, a woman who shares a hotel room with her daughters, a retiree who drives a truck to support his family back home. Stories of labor exploitation, unemployment and homelessness, in the productive heart of Europe.
Hanna Fischer, Sofiia Melnyk, Nina Prange – UNDER 35
Hanna Fischer (1985) holds a degree in Cultural Studies, has assisted on film and television productions and directed Entscheide(r) (2015). Sofiia Melnyk (1988) attended art and animation courses in Kiev, worked as animator at studios UkrAnimaFilm and Buben, and directer Zauberhafte Kraft der Kunst (2014). Nina Prange (1993) studied animation at the Bavarian Academy of Television and directed Nummer 424 (2014) and Als er keinen Fisch mehr aß (2015). They study at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg.
