When We Fight

Synopsis In 2019, more than 30,000 teachers in Los Angeles launched one of the largest education strikes in the country’s history, led largely by women. When We Fight chronicles this wave of mass participation from beginning to a successful ending: a movement against the privatisation of public schools and for better living conditions for workers, students and families.

Directors’ bio-filmography Yael Bridge directed the feature documentary The Big Scary “S” Word about the history and resurgence of socialism in the US, premiered at Hot Docs 2020. She produced Saving Capitalism, which was nominated for an Emmy. Yoni Golijov produced the Oscar and BAFTA-nominated film All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, directed by Laura Poitras, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
