Registration is now open for the seventh edition of the Working Title Film Festival. The event, promoted by the association Laboratorio dell’inchiesta economica e sociale Aps, under the artistic direction of Marina Resta, will take place in November 2024 in Vicenza, at the Odeon Cinema and other venues in the city.
Born in 2016, the festival confirms its thematic focus on work from a contemporary perspective: conflicts, technological innovations, changes, the relationship with society and the political and social context, both Italian and global. “The new edition,” explains artistic director Marina Resta, “will include a selection of audiovisual works in competition, presentations, masterclasses and talks, in order to return to a discussion on the mutations of work and its representations”.
The international call for entries officially opens today 28 December 2023, with a double deadline set for 17 February (Earlybird, with a discount on the entry fee) and 24 March 2024 (Regular).
Confirmed also for the seventh edition are the three competition sections:
- Feature & Medium Films, open to documentary, fiction and animation films on the theme of work with a minimum duration of 31 minutes;
- Short Films, open to documentary, fiction and animation films on the theme of work with a maximum duration of 30 minutes;
- ExtraWorks, open to hybrid, experimental, video art and video clip films on the theme of work, with no duration limits.
Works must have been completed after 1 January 2021 and are not required to be unpublished. All works in Italian must be subtitled in English, while those in languages other than Italian must have subtitles in Italian and/or English.
There are two entry channels: via email and via the FilmFreeway platform. All information, in Italian and English, is available at this link.
